Abra and Jim Schweikert opened Maggie’s & MORE in 2019 as a vehicle to give her students with disabilities an opportunity to learn and work in a safe, encouraging environment after high school. Maggie’s staff learn every aspect of the coffee house experience, from lattes to lunch offerings, espressos, and smoothies. Impressed by the growth in skills my daughter achieved in 4 years working for Maggie’s, I joined the M.O.R.E. program by offering a workshop opportunity making soap and other body products. Maggie’s workers come downstairs to the workshop weekly and help plan, create, package and sell our soaps and sundries.
